The Serpentine Gallery

As a class, we visited the Serpentine Gallery to view the 2015 Pavilion. The Pavilion is temporary and was created by the architect's called Jose Selgas and Lucia Cano. he designer of the beautiful Pavilion is SelgasCano.

SelgasCano's master piece is a playful and fun pavilion that all types of audiences can enjoy. Children are very interested and fascinated by the bright colours and how walking threw the Pavilion is like an adventure that stimulates their senses. Whereas adults are amazed by the unique and distinctive shape of the Pavilion and from every angle there is something new and exciting to look at.

The Pavilion has various colours along with mirrored material, ribbon and translucent sections. the main material of the piece is Ethylene Tetrafluoroethylene which is layered twice. The frame is a made from steel.

Personally, I found the Pavilion to be breath taking! I managed to do a few observational drawings from the piece. Viewing the pavilion influenced me to think about using abstract form and shape when I go to make my own shelter with my college group.
